𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗢𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗱 𝗠𝗽𝗼𝘅 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁




Ozamiz City Mayor Atty. Indy Oaminal is asking everyone to stay alert and follow safety measures to help stop the spread of Mpox (Monkeypox), a viral disease now affecting parts of Mindanao.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Indy reminded residents to take care and follow guidelines issued by the Department of Health (DOH). He also released Executive Order No. 25-HFOJ-005, which puts the DOH’s health protocols into action in the city.
𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀:
1. Face Masks – Must be worn in all health facilities and medical vehicles. The public is also encouraged to wear masks in other crowded or public places.
2. Hand Hygiene – Wash hands often, clean frequently touched surfaces, and use disinfectants regularly.
3. Seek Medical Help – If you have symptoms like rashes, fever, or body pain, get checked by a doctor right away.
4. PPE for Health Workers – All workers in hospitals and clinics, including support staff, must wear protective gear.
5. Follow Health Protocols – All safety rules from the DOH must be followed at all times.
𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝘇𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘇 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼:
• Make sure workers wear masks during working hours,
• Set up hand sanitizers at entrances,
• Keep common areas clean and disinfected.
The public is also reminded to avoid close contact with people who may have Mpox and with animals that could carry the virus.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗽𝗼𝘅?
Mpox is a viral disease that causes skin rashes, fever, headaches, body aches, tiredness, and swollen lymph nodes. It can last for 2 to 4 weeks. It spreads through:
• Direct contact with infected skin,
• Touching items like clothes or bedding used by someone with Mpox,
• Breathing in droplets during close face-to-face conversations.
