A recent drug bust at a checkpoint in Brgy. Labinay serves as yet another stern warning from Mayor Atty. Indy Oaminal: criminals have no place in Ozamiz City.
On the evening of March 28, 2025, at around 10:04 PM, personnel from the Ozamiz City Police Station (CPS), led by PLT Michael Enguito, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Misamis Occidental, conducted a checkpoint operation at Labinay Border Control Point. This resulted in the arrest of Jabar Cali Diamla, a 41-year-old resident of Brgy. Maloro, Tangub City, for violation of Section 11 of RA 9165 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs).
Authorities confiscated approximately 10 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P68,000, along with several personal items, including a sling bag, an aluminum strip foil, a brown wallet, a Vivo Android smartphone, a Bajaj Motorcab key, and a white Bajaj Motorcab. The suspect is now in police custody for proper disposition.
Prior to the arrest, Mayor Indy had already issued a stern warning, declaring that Ozamiz City will not tolerate illegal activities.
“𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘢𝘸𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘖𝘻𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘻 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺: 𝘋𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶.”
Under the Asenso Ozamiz administration, Mayor Oaminal has intensified efforts against drugs and crime, ensuring swift action against offenders.
This latest arrest proves that the Mayor’s warning are not just words—it is a clear commitment to keeping Ozamiz City safe and drug-free.
With this, the Asenso Ozamiz administration sends a clear and unwavering message: Ozamiz is not a place for crime, and those who dare test the law will be caught and held accountable.
