Doc TJ highlighted the importance of being risk assessed using the PhilPEN Assessment that plays a crucial role in identifying and mitigating all health risks.
An introduction on the heart and the cancer disease was presented by Ms. Sharmaine Zarate, HPO II from NCDC. Ms. June Erika Obsioma, Nurse III from the Infectious Diseases Cluster (IDC), hosted a Q&A Game with topics related to the month's celebration. A valentine serenade was then offered by Dr. Bradley Bob dela Calzada, Mr. William Cayaba, Mr. Gabby Valdez, and Mr. Reinier Sabala. The opening celebration was concluded by a Zumba-for-All.
February is declared as the Philippine Heart Month and February 4 is internationally marked as World Cancer Day. These two (2) celebrations are very important to raise awareness on heart diseases and cancer and to encourage its prevention, management, and treatment as a serious and growing health concern to all of us Filipinos.
